Combo Lock Metal Hiking Clip Large-sized
This hiking equipment is a carabineer clip so you can gather things together and lock them up. You can change the code which is handy. Fairly tough too actually - can't imagine you can break with pliers or bolt cutters. The build quality not 100% - little bit flimsy but still very solid. Have got 3 of these now and some seem to have different sizes of the arm. All useable but some are easier than others. You wouldn't mind another number actually - go backpacking with these guys and this locks it up - someone actually stole it (not any of my gear though) by just running through the numbers am assuming. I guess it is a excellent for backpacking travels - am a little surprised at how much this is but definitely have got moneys worth out of it.
When the combination is just one number off, say its set to 0-0-1, if the numbers read 0-0-0 you can force the lock down, but when it’s more than one number off its more difficult if not nearly impossible to force down. I think it could be stronger, but for the price they are perfect. I know these are not impossible to break, but they would definitely slow down someone who is trying to steal something. I really like the idea of this hiking equipment. Mostly because I travel a lot, and it would have been nice to be able to temporarily lock my backpack to something so no one snatches it when I'm not looking. Its looks good and the design are simple and un-complicated. It didn't lock! Mostly because the metal was warped so that it didn’t fit into the locking mechanism. Probably it is just a one of factory dud, and could probably be fixed if I had the right tools. But I do feel disappointed. It is very usable lock for a lot of purposes and on first look don't really look like a lock, but only a regular clip (sometimes it's good because a bag with a lock always looks more attractive).
The hiking equipment was pretty easy to change the PIN and it can be change anytime I want... not only once. I think it is Very Good for the money. We have encountered multiple cooler thefts while camping, and hopefully these will prevent any more. I bought 3, and I also have 2 big and good locks. I guess it's a nice lock that do the job and don't put too much attention.

How do locking clips work? You know the ones used for infant carseats...?
You have to use them to keep both the lap and shoulder belts together once tightened.
Secure the carseat by placing all your body weight on it and pulling the slack out of the seatbelt.
Hold both the lap and shoulder belt together. The clip that looked like capital "I" has to secure them. Hook the top part of the "I" on first and then the bottom or which ever is easier. It might take time to get a hang of. If it's easier you can slide the seat belts in the clip from the side. Once you have the clip on, make sure its secure.
You can look in your carseat manual for a diagram.
